Veterans History Project: An Interview with Kenneth Morris

Interview conducted by Jeanne Czarnecki and produced by Jennifer Cockerill. Recorded at the Scotts Valley Branch, Santa Cruz Public Libraries, November 25, 2014.

Born in Minnesota, Kenneth A. Morris served in the United States Air Force from 1944 to 1945, as part of the 8th Air Force, 351st Bomb Group, and 509th Squadron at Polebrook Airfield near Peterborough, England. He participated in 35 bombing missions over Nazi Germany and occupied Europe, as a B17 waist gunner. Morris was decorated with EAMA Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, and Presidential Unit Citation. He reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
