DIED; WALLACE - In Santa Cruz Oct. 9, George Wallace, aged 85 years 8 months and 14 days, a native of Illinois.

Funeral of the deceased will be held from the Chase Undertaking parlors at 2 p.m. Monday. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Interment in SCruz/OMP cemetery.
Geo. W. Wallace Dies At Home
George Washington Wallace who for 55 years has made his home in California, died last night at the family residence at 12 Pacheco Ave.
Mr. Wallace was born 85 years ago in Illinois and was for a number of years a school teacher, and was one who kept posted with the movements of the day. His wife preceded him in death a couple of years ago.
He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harriet Ruddock of Napa, and a son Lewis Wallace of Oakland.
The body is at Chase's undertaking parlors.

Old Soldier Is Laid In SCruz/OMP
The funeral services over George Washington Wallace were held yesterday at Chase's undertaking parlors. Many friends were at the services, which were conducted by Rev. C.H. Bright, while the hymns were sung by Mrs. Z.T. Croop and Mrs. Duncan MacDonald and were "Drifting" and "Through the Gates of Gold."
The members of the G.A.R. attended in a body and the pallbearers were old soldiers, A.M. Barber, Reed, William Sargent, John Mockley and Thomas Hanville.
The burial was at the SCruz/OMP cemetery.
