Another Old Soldier Dies

Monday afternoon was held the funeral of Henry C. Mallory under the auspices of Wallace Reynolds Post GAR. Deceased, born in Liberty Indiana and reached the age of 72, passed away at midnight Saturday at his home 131 Marnell Ave. the result of heart trouble.

He enlisted in the Thirty sixth Indiana Infantry an saw three years service rising to the command of the regiment for conspicuous bravery in action. After coming to the coast he lived for some time in Arizona. Three sons survive the deceased.

Henry C. Mallory was born on Sept. 12, 1838 at Liberty, Union County, Indiana. On Sept 17, 1861 he enlisted as a private in Co G of the 36th Indiana Infantry and served with the unit until mustered out September 21, 1864. He later affiliated with Wallace-Reynolds Post 32 in Santa Cruz, California.

He lived in San Miguel California following the war and worked as a Farmer, Barn Doctor, and Cook. He died on August 4, 1913 in Santa Cruz and was buried in SCruz/OMP Cemetery.
