William R. Cushing of East Santa Cruz succumbed to the ravages of tuberculosis recently in little Manila, as we call the new consumptive ward recently completed and brought into use as a part of the Home, but a separate institution complete in its self having, cook, nurse, dining room and waiters of its own. Cushing was a long enduring patient sufferer and passed in peace surrounded by home friends.

Old Soldier Passes Away

Word has been received of the death last Saturday (June 15) of W.R. Cushing, at the Soldiers Home at Sawtelle near Santa Monica. The old soldier was well known here and lived on the East Side. He was a member of Wallace Reynolds Post, G.A.R. H was a native of Massachusetts 68 years.
