The Scott Creek campers are arrested again at the county center, involving the county in a dispute between the landowner and demonstrators. After the campers were first ordered to leave the northcoast property they were trespassing on, eight demonstrators were arrested. Days later, campers and their supporters moved to the county center on Ocean Street, and declined to leave after closing. 22 demonstrators, including four minors, were arrested and released the following day. Minors were temporarily placed in foster homes, or released from juvenile hall. Demonstrators were offered temporary housing by the County Social Services, but refused this, and refused offers for housing by the public in favor of remaining together. The county did not grant a request for an emergency expenditure to enable the campers to get their vans and buses out of storage.
