Proposed North Coast Plan Sees Development In Stages
This article discusses the plans for the North Coast land. Three principles have been applied to the plan, 1-All construction should meet the requirements of the total community, and all property adjacent to current residential areas should be developed first. 2-All new annexation should be organized and extend outward from the existing Santa Cruz City area. 3- Urban Growth should be restricted as to maintain present extent of urbanization. There are three developmental zones, A- 1,749 acres of mainly uplands and 622 acres of benchland, B- which has a total of 2,289 acres, 312 of which are benchlands, and Zone C- which has 3,100 acres, of which 474 are benchland. Overall this project is focused on controlled growth and maintaining the environmental land of the North Coast.
