Hearing Thursday On North Coast Development Plan
This hearing will be the first of many about the plans for the North Coast. These plans were developed by a citizens committee with the aid of 2 planning commissioners and the city council. Chairman of the committee Janet Hughes, and commissioners, Duf Fisher, Lack Meehan, Jon Wagstaff, N. Manfred Schaffer, and Harry Coolidge were briefly mentioned in this piece. The North Coast area that will be developed is 11.15 square miles, this will double the cities present size. So far defined plans for this area are the construction of 9 to 10 thousand residential homes near Wilder Ranch, and there is discussion of using roughly %15 of the current benchland to be covered with buildings.
