Mission Plaza at Holy Cross Church
Looking across Mission Plaza at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church. The Church sits on the site of the Mission chapel and graveyard. It was designed by Thomas J. Welsh and was completed in 1889. To the left of the church is the Holy Cross Church building designed by Waters and Beck. It was constructed in 1857 and used as a church after the partial collapse of the adobe Mission chapel that same year. The forty-foot towers were added in 1873. The building was demolished in 1898.
