Captain Harry Love

Portrait of Captain Harry Love. Love was the leader of the California Rangers, which was created by the state legislature to capture Joaquin Murieta. He settled in the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1855. He married the 'Widow Bennett' and ran a sawmill on the creek which is now named for him. He died in 1868.
