Miss California Pageant on the Boardwalk bandstand

Unidentified man presenting Miss Catalina with a trophy at the Miss California Pageant on the Boardwalk bandstand. Fred Swanton, founder of the Boardwalk, originated the pageant in 1924 to publicize Santa Cruz. The last Miss California pageant held in Santa Cruz was in 1985.
