When Vesta was young she decided she did not just want to be a housewife so she enrolled at UCBerkeley and got a degree in Physics. She has also done research on local plants in Santa Cruz, has a plant named after her, and help a famous Stanford scientist with his discertation on the flora of Santa Cruz. She never worked professional as a scientist and never was teacher but she feels she has helped many people and that is also important.
