How Boulder Creek Began a Century Ago

The flume was in place for nine years and was never financially successful thought to be due to the lack of adequate slope down the valley to move the wood faster. Coordination between the starting and ending points would occur by messages being sent down with the first logs about how much product to expect today. The flume had to be tended along with way to keep everything moving with men and pikes keeping everything floating freely.
