Big Basin Benefactor
Andrew P. Hill was confronted by a private landowner in Felton when he was trying to take a photo of the redwoods in Felton in 1899. Andrew decided to begin a conservation effort to save all the redwoods in the area for the people, establishing Big Basin Park. With the help of others listed in the article he pushed a bill up through the legislature that established the park for the future.
