Felton's "gem" of a vineyard has new sparkle

Felton’s winery is bought by the Schumacher’s from Davis and renamed Hallcrest as it was in the 1940s. The original owner Cahlee Hall opened the winery in 1941 and operations stopped in 1964 when he became ill. The winery was so respected that for many years the owners of Wente and COncannon sent their workers over to care for the vineyards and produce a few wines rather than let the vineyard fold. Several owners have purchased the property since that time with Felton Empire Winery being the most well-known. The current owners hope to focus on a few wines for awhile and bring the winery back to its full operations soon
