Many homes in the Zayante area were meant to be seasonal homes and not lived in when the weather in cold and rainy. The pilot program wants to test whether improvements would be achieved by weatherizing these houses versus building a new power plant. Each house will get an in person assessment and apply the six steps which include duct and water heater wrapping, caulking and weatherstripping, shower heads and ceiling insulation. Other minor repairs may also be implemented. The repair service is provided by local contractors.
