Second Saturday Net August 2001
The stated goal of this zine is for African American families who want to get to know one another and learn something in the process. It is an information and resource guide that originated from an idea of the members of the Second Saturday School. Second Saturday is an initiative of the African American Council of Santa Cruz and the Second Saturday Network and was designed to promote identity development and achievement in African American youth. Topics in this edition include an update on Project Vecinos with additional funding provided that was used to send 5 students to Washington DC to experience the politics and history of the city. Also included is an original essay on Zimbabwe from a student and Letters from Zimbabwe column.
