Second Saturday Net April 2003
The stated goal of this zine is for African American families who want to get to know one another and learn something in the process. It is an information and resource guide that originated from an idea of the members of the Second Saturday School. Second Saturday is an initiative of the African American Council of Santa Cruz and the Second Saturday Network and was designed to promote identity development and achievement in African American youth. Topics in this edition include a book drive to send books to Highfield High in Zimbabwe with a goal of 37 books or around $400 in value. Also a Q and A session with two African American students at Santa Cruz High and a Photo Collage Project from 2002-2003 with various contributors. Also an article on sister Love from the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Santa Cruz.
