Disaster Hits Santa Cruz County

Article presents overview of the disaster and the government response to the disaster both immediate and long term. He acknowledges the processes that worked well and those that didn’t. Leon Panetta has put forth legislation to increase the funds available for immediate help after a disaster and to lower the interest rates on Small business Loans. He is also look for some relief for those residents that were displaced from their homes due to proximity to the Love Creek slide. He is also looking into flood insurance that would also cover mud damage which many insurance plans do not cover.
