Full Circle

Article describes the neighborhood of the circles from its history to its unique mixture of surfers, students, AFrican Americans and immigrants. The orientation of the homes and that cultural mix has created a close knit population that works to advocate for things they need such as a library, a health clinic, and protecting the environment. Small grocery stores are a fixture there and the neighborhood has been through many transitions from former church camp with a large church in the middle to increase in AFrican American population after World War II to decline with deterioration of the area to re-birth with new homes on the vacant lots.
