Residents of Love Creek neighborhood win postponement of abatement order

The appeal to an abatement order filed after the Love Creek slide in 1982 has been delayed again. It was first delayed to allow the residents in the area to deal with their feelings. then a second delay a year later was to allow for more investigation of the site and to allow people to obtain lawyers who wanted to challenge the government decision or their insurance companies. This third appeal delay is because some residents want time to resolve their lawsuits before a decision is made. Several homeowners have already proceeded in finding new homes or in removing their houses rather than waiting for the appeal process to conclude.
