Scott House July 1977

Brief synopsis of Hiram Scott and the house he built that is still standing. it was built somewhere in 1852 or 1853. it is believed that the ranch was active at that time. An interview with his brother Joseph relates that there were wild horses everywhere and that at one time the Scott family rounded up 250 horses for their own. They also were major supplies of wheat to the surrounding areas. The house is being reconstructed by funds raised with the Scotts Valley Historical Society. The officers and mission of the organization is listed.
