Review of Scotts Valley from its beginnings as a crossroads between San Lorenzo Valley and people on their way to Santa Cruz. It contends that the town will find a way to deal with its current problems as it has in the past with civic involvement and good energetic leadership. Some of these challenges include water management, traffic congestion, housing shortages that prevent tax collection to invest in infrastructure. Remaining houses are in short supply, driving up coasts. The author encourages Scotts Valley to manage its own problems without the intervention of outsiders.
