Historical house will soon come down
Old house built around 1860 on Glen Hollow Rd. Did not ever get on the County’s list of historical homes because it sat back from the road. Owners can tell it was built some time ago because the redwood used to construct the house was split, not produced in the sawmill. The original owner was a man named Webber and bullet holes in the door support the story of feuding with a neighbor named Born over property boundaries. This was such a problem that Glen Hollow was once named Squabble Rd before the citizens petitioned to change it. The house is in poor condition now and the current owner Walter Beam has determined that it cannot be saved and offered it to the fire department for practice. The Historical Society has asked for time to at least document the house with photos before that event occurs.
