Insolvancy at bank
Cashier Hayward of the Bank of Santa Clara believed to be behind the theft of over $300,000. The money is believed to have been lost in the stock market. Hayward recently died of an abscess. VP Leonard has filed for insolvency and assured depositors that their money will be returned by the stockholders. The remaining insufficiency of the bank is $85,000.
