Dr. W. E. Musgrave, Famous Physician, Dies at Home Here
Write-up of the death of William Musgrove who lived at the Riverwood Mansion in Ben Lomond. He has a long history as a physician serving in the Spanish American War where he was stationed in the Philippines working in the lab. He was later assigned to be the director of the Pathological lab in the Philippines after the war and served in this capacity for 1 5 years. He returned to San Francisco and held leadership positions in the American medical Association, Children’s Hospital, and the University of California, San Francisco. He retired to Ben Lomond for his health and he and his wife Florence worked to remodel the house and grounds formally known as Phillipshurst.
