Frank Latta, expert on Joaquin Murrieta formerly of Bakersfield, now lives in CApitola. His research leads him to believe and he interviews many family members who stated that Joaquin Murrietta escaped Harry Love and his rangers and headed home. However, Latta’s best knowledge is that he was killed in Arizona on the way home. Latta hopes to write a book on the subject.
