Summary of investigation into the death of Harry Love
Accounting of the gunfight and death of Harry Love at the hands of Christian Iverson, hired hand to Mary Bennett. Mary and Harry had been estranged for many years with Harry living in Santa Cruz and Mary living in Santa Clara. Harry drove to Mary's house with several weapons intent on killing the German hired hand. A fight insued and Hary was beaten with a pistol and shot in the shoulder. Doctors performed emergency surgery however Harry Died soon after. Mr. Iverson was acquitted due to self-defense. There was some mix-up in the names upon burial and the paperwork said Mary had died not Harry. However a grandaughter claimed that Mary Bennet dies some time later of heart failure.
