Marshall Creek in Ben Lomond
The Mountain Echo is attempting to correct the current misnaming of a local creek as “Hubbard Creek”. Instead of “Marshall Creek”. The original name is related to an early pioneer named Marshall whose father was Thomas Graham related to Isaac Graham who owned the Graham Ranch in Felton and who Graham Hill Road is named. Marshall married one of the Bennett daughters whose step father was Harry Love. Marshall built his shake cabin where the Van winkle house is located today. He precedes Hubbard by many years and so should maintain the creek’s name. Hubbard Gulch is named after the Hubbard Family as it should be.
