Mabel Hall Interview
Interview with Mabel Hall. Her parents were married at San Miguel. their license was in San Luis Obispo and the judge’s ranch covered both counties so they had to hope a fence to make the marriage legal and her mother tore her wedding dress. Mabel attended school in 1901 at Ben Lomond school. Mabel’s father owned the land where Shingle Mill stood and he and his wife worked at the mill. Later her father was also a school trustee, fish and game warden, fire warden and deputy sheriff. Did some carpentry work also on Huckleberry Island. He helped install the first water system and the first electricity and also worked with Judge Logan on Loganberries.
