Brookdale excursion with Shirley Gleasn

Houses or locations are noted by Shirley Gleason as to who lived there in earlier days of Brookdale. The first Post Office on Pacific Avenue, where the old Brookdale Bluc held its dances with Japanese lanterns, the Schumacher family home on Pacific. There son was killed running across a road in San Francisco to buy flowers for his mother. Holland’s Corner was a summertime place for ice cream and candy and a gathering place for young people. An old grocery store was on southeast coroner of Highway 9 and across the street was Judge Logan’s old house with a hipped roof and two stories. The Brookdale Inn had a bar and a restaurant and a dance hall acros the creek.
