Ben Lomond gears up for Sunday's Scottish

Article describes the history of the festival starting in the 1960’s by a local businessman’s association to draw tourists to a unique location similar to Solvang in Southern California. Faye Ellis notes that there really isn’t a Scottish connection historically. John Burns who was Scottish lived in DAvenport and associated the fog to his home country. He also gave Bonny Doon its name when he moved there. Local residents renamed the Newll Creek Reservoir to Loch Lomond and the festival became a reality. It has disbanded and then been re-scheduled several times since its founding in 1961.
