Movie Troupe Again Here To Shoot Scenes

Edwin Carewe, celebrated film director, and his unit of the United Artists, arrived in Santa Cruz from Carmel today to continue filming of exterior scenes of their new picture "Evangeline." The first scenes, "Forest Primeval," were "shot" in the Big Basin recently. Exterior scenes will be filmed on this trip at the Minnehaha Falls in Blackburn Gulch.

The lead will be played by Miss Dolores Del Rio, Mexican star, as Evangeline. Supporting her will be an all star cast including Roland Drew as Gabriel, portraying the masculine lead. Donald Reed as Batiste, the second masculine lead; Alec Francis as Father Felician; James Marcus, Paul McAllister, George Marion and Bobby Mack are the other recognized members of the cast.

The company will spend three weeks at Carmel where they have erected a typical Arcadian village of the eighteenth century. Several trips will be made from Carmel to Santa Cruz in the future to complete exterior scenes."
