DIED: WORSWICK - In Santa Cruz March 25 William H. Worswick.
G.A.R. Comrade Called by Death
William H. Worswick, another old soldier has been called by death, his passing occurring on Sunday at a local hospital after an illness of a year.
Mr. Worswick with his wife came to Santa Cruz about a year ago and their residence has been on Pelton avenue. A few months ago he was taken ill and about three months ago went to Yountville, where he stayed two months. He then returned to Santa Cruz and has been in a hospital much of the time since.
The funeral services will be held today at the Chase undertaking parlors and the remains will be shipped to Yountville for burial.
Mr. and Mrs. Worswick came here from Hanford, where they had made their home for over 40 years. Beside the wife Cetty, this G.A.R. veteran is survived by four sons, all residing in California, Harry, William, Joshua, and John. A brother, John Worswick, and a sister, Mrs. Diana Smally, also survive, as well as a niece, Josephine H. Trout of Santa Maria.
