Death of Dr. C.C. Shinnick
A Recent Arrival in This City Dies Last Night

Dr. C.C. Shinnick, who recently arrived from Oakland, where he had been practicing his profession for the past twelve years, died last night at the Mission Hill Sanitarium of Bright's disease. He had only been there a few hours when he passed away.

The deceased has been engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery for many years, both as an allopathic or old school physician and latterly as a successful homeopaths, having graduated at the famous Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital, Chicago, and was a member of the California State Medical Society (Homeopathic).

Dr. Shinnick had received a number of National, State and City medical appointments, having been a United States Pension Surgeon. He was also at one time a member and secretary of the State Board of Medical Examiners of Utah. He was surgeon of the South Dakota State Soldiers Home when Col.. W.V. Lucas of this city was the Commandant.

Dr. Shinnick was also a member of the Oakland Board of Health. He was prominent in Fraternal circles, being a member of Live Oak Lodge of Masons, Oak Leaf Chapter Eastern Star, Lyons Post, G.A.R. and a member of the First Congregational church of Oakland.

His office in this city has been at 21 Church street.

The body is at the Pacific Coast Undertaking parlors and an effort is being made to get in communication with Eastern relatives as he has a daughter, a brother and two sisters in the east.

Funeral of Dr. C.C. Shinnick

The funeral services of Dr. C.C. Shinnick were held this afternoon at Pacific Coast Undertaking and were under the auspices of Wallace-Reynolds Post G.A.R.

Rev. J.B. Orr conducted the religious services. Dr. Shinnick was a member of the Congregational Church.
