Lucius S. Sherman, for many years a resident of Santa Cruz where he followed his trade as stone mason and plaster, died this morning in San Francisco where he has resided for the past several years.

He was 73 years of age and a native of N.Y. and leaves three sons Theodore, Henry, and John.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Workmen, and a zealous member of the Methodist Church. The funeral will be held from that church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

DIED: SHERMAN - In San Francisco, March 23rd, Lucius S. Sherman, a native of New York, aged 73 years 11 months.

-- L.S. Sherman, a resident of Santa Cruz up to two years ago, died in San Francisco Thursday. He came to Santa Cruz a quarter of a century ago, he being a plasterer and brick mason by occupation. Joining the local Methodist church, Odd Fellows and Workman carrying a $1999 policy in the latter he became an active and valuable member of Society.

-- The remains of the late L.S. Sherman, until two years ago a resident of this city were brought down from San Francisco Friday and the funeral will be held from the Methodist Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Members of Wallace-Reynolds Post G.A.R., of which deceased was a member will attend in a body.

L.S. Sherman, the old soldier whose remains were laid to rest last Saturday, for years resided on Center St.; moving to East Santa Cruz, the substantial home he erected overlooking the bay and San Lorenzo river. After the death of his wife he sold his property and tried his luck in the mines.
