DIED: REYNOLDS - In Santa Cruz, Dec 29, James A. Reynolds of Oakland aged 73 years.

Dies Suddenly at Home of Friend

James A. Reynolds, for many years proprietor of a meat market on the East side, died suddenly yesterday morning at the home of Mrs. Nettie Gebhardt at 331 Soquel Av. He was visiting at this home and was seated in a chair, and after a few gasps died of heart trouble.

He has been living in Oakland for a number of years, and always enjoyed his visits to Santa Cruz, and they were regular and semi annual. He was a man of integrity and made many friends when here. His wife and son preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the Civil war, and a member of the G.A.R.

The remains are at Chase's undertaking parlors and the inquest will be held at 2PM today.

Inquest Over J.A. Reynolds

The inquest over James A. Reynolds, who died suddenly at the Gebhardt residence, on Wednesday, on the East Side, was conducted yesterday afternoon by Coroner Dr. W.R. Congdon at the Chase undertaking parlors.

The verdict was that the deceased was 73 years old, a native of Iowa, and death was from Myocarditis. The jurors were Charles J. Fikes, J.B. Francis, E. Armstrong, M.J. Hawkins, E.J. Dabadie, and H.E. Welder.

Charles Gebhardt, Mrs.. Nettie Gebhardt and Dr. Alfred Phillips were the witnesses. Mrs. Gebhardt testified that she had known Mr. Reynolds for ten years. She stated that at the time of death she heard the heavy breathing in the next room.
