Veteran Breaks Arm in Fall From Ladder

While painting his house at Boulder Creek, William Rector fell from a seven foot ladder. He was taken in the house and Dr. W.A. Phillips was called ad found the right arm and shoulder bones were broken and probably the hip. He is 80 years old and a veteran of the Civil war, going through without a scratch.

The old gentleman was brought to Hanly sanitarium in this city and an X ray taken to ascertain the exact nature of his injuries.

Veteran of the Civil War Passes Away

William Rector of Boulder Creek died yesterday at a local hospital where he had been taken for treatment.

Mr. Rector was a veteran of the civil war and was a member of the Wallace Reynolds Post GAR. He was a native of Pennsylvania and was 87 years old.

The body is at Chase undertaking parlors and the funeral will be held on Thursday morning from the parlors.

DIED: RECTOR - In Santa Cruz, April 28, William Rector of Boulder Creek, aged 86 years, native Pennsylvania.

The funeral of the deceased will take place Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock from Chase's undertaking parlors. Friends and acquaintances are invited. Interment SCruz/OMP cemetery.

Funeral Over Old Soldier

Funeral services over William Rector, of Boulder Creek were held yesterday morning at the Chase Undertaking Parlors, under the auspices of Wallace Reynolds Post, G.A.R.

Many were down from Boulder Creek for the services as well as friends from this city.
