Death of An Old Soldier
John H Noyes, a veteran of the civil war died at his home, 191 Seabright Ave. where he resided with his wife. He went to the Soldiers Home at Sawtelle in Southern California some time ago but returned. Mr. Noyes leaves a wife and family, was 74 years old and a native of Ohio. He served his country during the civil war and was a member of Wallace Reynolds Post GAR under whose auspices the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at Chase Undertaking parlor.

Funeral of J.H. Noyes
The funeral of J.H. Noyes took place from Chase undertaking parlors at 3 o'clock PM Tuesday. Col. W.V. Lucas delivered an appropriate address after which it was followed by the usual G.A.R. Service. Music by Ladies of the W.R.C., Prayer by Comrade Henry Henny Chaplain, and address by Commander Wagner. Comrade Wagner deposited a flag in the casket and three other comrades deposited emblematic wreaths as tokens of the G.A.R. The deceased was buried at SCruz/OMP cemetery. Comrade Stackpole was flag bearer, Comrade Lucas, Millard, Lawrence, Hills, Bibbins, and McAdams pall bearers. Comrade Noyes served three years in Co. C 29th Iowa Infantry. He was a man well known and highly respected by all who knew him.
