Death of Charles Fitzsimmons
Charles Fitzsimmons died yesterday afternoon at about three o'clock from heart failure. He had remarked during the day that he had felt better than he had for years. He had been out walking and returned to his home on Campbell St. and then went to the pantry to secure a glass which he wished to use in taking his medicine. On his way, death came and he fell to the floor.
Mr. Fitzsimmons is well known as one of our industrious and upright citizens and of late has followed his trade as carpenter. For a number of years he was on the police force and was at one time a driver on the old streetcar line. Together with his brother, L.D. Fitzsimmons, he served in the Union Army in some of the thickest fighting of the rebellion and is a member of Wallace Reynolds Post GAR.
He leaves a wife and daughter, Mrs. Eva Vogt. He was fifty-eight years old and a native of New York.
