Celebrate Golden Wedding

The W.R.C. and Wallace Reynolds Post, G.A.R. gathered at native Sons hall Saturday to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W.H Else. Three daughters from Butte, Mont. , Mrs. A.E. German, Mrs. J.T. Reed, and Mrs. A.F. Henderson, one daughter from Salt Lake City, Mrs. W.H. Cole, and a son W.C. Else of Santa Cruz, all helped the honored couple to celebrate the day.

At 12 o'clock Phillip Hynes and Mrs. G. Cook led the grand march to the banquet hall, where a sumptuous repast awaited them. Immediately following, Mr. Hynes and Mrs. Cook were the honored couple and their family and they in turn were followed by all couples who had celebrated golden weddings.

The W.R.C. quartet rendered very sweet music while all enjoyed the bountiful spread. Col. W.V. Lucas gave an address and read congratulatory telegrams which had been received. Rev Shoptaugh of the First Christian Church added his felicitations, after which all adjourned to the larger hall, where recitations, congratulations and music and singing were enjoyed. Messrs. T.E. Blanchard and W.H. Else vied with each other in seeing which could tell the best yarn of the courtship days of fifty years ago, causing much merriment.
