DIED: ELLIS, in Santa Cruz October 24th James C. Ellis of New York, aged 65. The funeral will take place today (Tuesday) from the residence of Mrs. C.K. Armstrong No. 8 Riverside at two o'clock PM. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.

Died Monday

James C. Ellis, an old veteran of the Civil War, and who just moved here lately from Minneapolis with his wife and son, died Monday morning at the home of Mrs. C.K. Armstrong on Riverside Av., after he had suffered a severe stroke of apoplexy. Deceased was a first lieutenant in Company G. of the Third Wisconsin Cavalry and served with distinction during the war.

He was 65 years old and a native of New York, and leaves to mourn him a wife and two sons, one of whom resides in Oregon.

The funeral will take place this afternoon from the residence of Mrs. Armstrong, that lady being the mother of his wife.
