Old Soldier Goes to Rest

George W. Christy, a resident of this city for the past seven years passed away early this morning at his home 7 Bonita Street. He was past seventy-two years of age and a native of Alton, Ill. He fought in the Civil War and since that time had been a traveling salesman. When settling on this coast he made his home here and had lived here continuously until he died.

He is survived by his faithful wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Christy, and the following children: G.H. Christy, G.O. Christy, and Mrs. Carrie Nipper

The funeral will be held Thursday.
