Growers in Pajaro Valley and Watsonville face storm damages after crops were washed away and fields remain under water. Carol Pista's apple orchard saw several thousand three to four year old apple trees uprooted and washed away after the Corralitos Creek rose above its banks. The apple trees had been planted after even greater damage from the 1982 storms. Scurich Farms 20 acres of raspberry fields are also under one and a half feet of water and mud from Corralitos Creek. Soil disease is a primary concern for the spring. The Freedom Boulevard-Amnesti Road and Holohan Road-East Lake Avenue areas are hardest hit by the flooding, and several fields remain submerged.
