As storm conditions and flood risk prompted evacuation orders across Santa Cruz County, the Red Cross established various shelter locations. More than 50 Boulder Creek and Felton area residents are still being housed in temporary shelters according to the Red Cross. Though, the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Aptos, converted to a shelter, remained empty and will be closed today, since it seems residents made other arrangements. Larry Gilliam of the Red Cross, hopes people can move back to their homes today, if geologists determine the areas are safe. The San Lorenzo River was the primary cause of evacuations.
