Library panel to weigh Sunday hours

The multi-million dollar library budget did not have any money left over for operations taking place on Sundays. Only the central branch had been open on Sundays, until it was closed for asbestos removal.
Cost changes have been affecting the library and its operations, including hours as well as the salaries of workers. Councilmembers claim that Santa Cruz cannot compete with the pay of libraries in Santa Clara or Marin counties.
