Interview with Carmel Mission Curator Richard Menn
The curator proposes that the status is from a Virgin Mary and that the Infant of Prague Satue was not that popular in California. He says it might have belonged to Mission Santa Cruz or even from a home. Probably made in Spain or Mexico during the mid 19th century.
