The Maggiolo’s have farmed for 52 years on one of the plots of land in Live Oak that once as home for chicken farms, and vegetable and flower gardens. They recount the challenges of farming and the Depression years where they could not get buyers for their produce. They say that developers are calling them all of the time to try to buy their land for new roads or new houses.
