Privateering paid off for Billy Buckle
Billie Buckley married a Mexican women and became a Mexican citizen allowing him to acquire Rancho Carbenero. he and his wife built an adobe on the current site of the Pasotiempo Golf Course. He later changed his name to Thompson and the horse grounds became known as Thompson Flat. He preceded Hiram Scott as a pioneer in the Scotts Valley area.
