Part of the road was used for Highway 9 but the part that starts at the gap and goes to Santa Cruz is under the Parks system and used for hiking. It run parallel to Highway 9 from Castle Rock to Big Basin. Residents are worried about vandalism and fires and want the state to control it. They have asked the Supervisors to take a look at it.
