When Boulder Creek went dry

Boulder Creek at one time had 26 saloons which closed with prohibition 12 years into Boulder Creek’s time as a lumber center. However, home grown wine was harder to enforce however one sherifff was known to show up and bash al the barrel letting the wine turn the creeks red. Story on same page describes how the train would blow its whistle through out the valley when a WWI soldier came home to let everyone know.
